Asset Impact (AI) is an impact-driven climate start-up.

We are seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Developer with a specialization in Amazon Web Services (AWS) to join the AI team. The ideal candidate will have experience in both front-end and back-end web development and a passion for creating intuitive and visually appealing website applications for data centric products, as well as a strong understanding of AWS technologies and best practices.

Responsibilities

You will develop and maintain our data ingestion and modelling platform. We have a PostgreSQL database using an ETL developed in Python and R by our data scientists. Collaborating with other team members, you will productionize the ETL process, identify and implement project requirements, write clean and well tested code, and encourage good coding practices across the team.

You will also help develop and maintain web applications and APIs alongside full stack developers. We have an AWS hosted web application using a modern serverless microservice architecture. The UI is developed in React and TypeScript.

• Ideally full-time employment. Freelance possible.
• Ideally Paris or Berlin in-person. Remote possible.

Requirements

• Right to work in France or Germany (in-person only).

Required skills

• A history utilizing AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB and Aurora to build scalable and fault-tolerant systems  
• Strong experience programming with SQL, preferably PostgreSQL
• Experience with at least one back-end programming language, preferably Python
• Experience with Agile
• History of designing data processing pipelines
• English as a working language

• Experience creating an API for a data company (client security, data usage, etc.)
• Experience developing strong and flexible data QA processes
• Experience as a scrum master
• Clean code practices, including TDD, and CI/CD
• Experience with DBA tasks
• Mentoring of team members
• Interest in sustainability
